2007 NCAA POINTS OF EMPHASIS

Page 64, Rule 12.1.3.1

Libero Uniforms:

This rule requires the libero to wear a uniform that is in clear contrast to and distinct from the other members of the team.

Point of Emphasis:

Color combinations such as purple/black, dark green/black, navy/black, or navy/maroon are not distinctive enough to comply with the rules.

Procedures for Timeouts and Intervals Between Games: Teams get the whole timeout period or interval for their use, but... then they must be ready to play!

Don't allow huddles after you've ended the timeout or interval.

Substitutions During or Before Timeouts:

NCAA Women's Rules allow substitution requests before, during or after a timeout.

Administer all substitutions at the end of the timeout.

2007 TECHNIQUE CHANGES

Point Signal:

The signal for point will be an extended arm indicating which team will serve next.

NEW YORK STATE MODIFICATION: THE POINT SIGNAL WILL BE TO RAISE THE FOREARM WITH THE INDEX FINGER EXTENDED UPWARD. USE THE HAND ON THE SIDE OF THE TEAM THAT WON THE RALLY.

Ball Under Net Signal (Page 172, Signal #2):

The signal for the ball crossing under the net (between the standards) will be pointing at the center line area with an extended index finger.
